2021 lignée Shiraz Pinot Noir
- +

lignée shiraz pinot noir | 13% alc./vol.

50% Shiraz from Somerset Vineyard, Hunter Valley
50% Pinot Noir from Borrodell Vineyard, Orange
Unfined & unfiltered. Minimal sulfites added.

Lignée is only available in magnums (1,500l) and only 667 bottles of each blend have been made for 2021. Last year’s release sold out in a matter of hours, so get in quick.

Vintage 2021 marks the third year of this collaborative release between Angus Vinden of Vinden Wines, and Will Gilbert of Gilbert Family Wines. Lignée first came to fruition over a couple of frothies at the pub in 2017 - Angus and Will, who are both known for producing single region and most often single vineyard wines, decided to share their fruit from Pokolbin and Orange, and make a large format wine together. This is the first year Angus & Will have created a rosé lignée together.

2021 Vinden Headcase Shiraz Nouveau

This wine was inspired by a trip to Beaujolais. This light, crisp, perfumed style of Shiraz was sourced from our Vinden Vineyard planted in 1995 over red clay soil and Tawarri Vineyard in the Upper Hunter. 10% whole bunch, 90% whole berry in open concrete fermenters, hand plunged, basket pressed and aged for 4 months in neutral French oak barrels. Enjoy it now or on a hot summers day serve it chilled with a straw. Cheers!

2021 Basket Press Shiraz

This Shiraz was sourced from our Somerset vineyard, and Tawarri Vineyard in the Upper Hunter. Made in traditional methods: cold soaked; fermented wild in open concrete fermenters; hand plunged and aged in neutral French oak. The wine is a vibrant modern Hunter Shiraz with fine tannin, and red and blue fruits. Drink now or any time over the next 10 years.

2017 Vinden Wines Reserve Semillon

Sourced from two famous Semillon vineyards. Trevena Vineyard, planted in 1920 on sandy loam soils, these unirrigated vines are situated on Hermitage Road Pokolbin, and Somerset Vineyard in Pokolbin, planted in 1969 on sandy clay loam. Picked in early February, the wine shows the character of the old gnarled vines; concentrated citrus fruit, refreshing acidity and delicate minerality. Great early drinking, however patience will be rewarded with cellaring up to 10+ years.

2021 Somerset Vinden Wines Verdelho

This Verdelho was sourced from our Somerset Vineyard. The block was planted by the Howard family in 1987, over fine sandy clay loam soil. This is not your “traditional” Hunter Verdelho- the fruit was picked early to retain its beautiful natural acidity and freshness. A reinvigorated approach to this classic varietal, which is highly drinkable with anything spicy!
