This famous blend was born in the Hunter Valley and this unique regional blend offers a gorgeous wine paying homage to the time-honoured style known as ‘Hunter River Burgundy’. The shiraz and pinot noir were both wild fermented with whole bunches to offer lift, spice and structure . After pressing the wines were matured separately in old neutral French oak barrels for 12 months before blending and ultimately bottling. The wine is an homage to the light dry red style synonymous with that era from the early 1920's

Vintage 2023 marks the fifth year of this collaborative release between Angus Vinden of Vinden Wines, and Will Gilbert of Gilbert Family Wines. Lignée first came to fruition over a couple of frothies at the pub in 2017 - Angus and Will, who are both known for producing single region and most often single vineyard wines, decided to share their fruit from Pokolbin and Orange, and make a large format wine together.

2024 Gamay Noir Blend

Sourced from our Vinden and Somerset Vineyards. The Gamay, Shiraz, Gewürztraminer & Pinot Meunier were co-fermented with 10% whole bunch and 90% whole berry in open concrete fermenters, wild fermented, and hand plunged. Aged for 5 months on old oak. Light fun and delicious when chilled.

This light, crisp, perfumed style of Shiraz was sourced from our Vinden vineyard planted in 1995 over red clay soil and Stoney Broke Vineyard in Broke. Wild fermented with 10% whole bunch, 90% whole berry in open concrete tanks and matured in concrete tanks/ neutral French oak barrels. Enjoy it now or on a hot summer’s day - serve slightly chilled. Cheers!
