Vintage 2022 marks the fourth year of this collaborative release between Angus Vinden of Vinden Wines, and Will Gilbert of Gilbert Family Wines. Lignée first came to fruition over a couple of frothies at the pub in 2017 - Angus and Will, who are both known for producing single region and most often single vineyard wines, decided to share their fruit from Pokolbin and Orange, and make a large format wine together. This is the second year Angus & Will have created a rosé lignée together.

Vinden Wines is one of very few wineries in Australia to grow and produce this rare grape varietal - it is a teinturier, one of the few grapes with red flesh, resulting from a cross in the 1800’s between a Grenache and Petit Bouschet. Grown on Vinden Estate on red loamy clay, it truly reflects the characteristics of the grape varietal, a fruit-forward style with red berries on the palate. This new release is bottled with a light spritz, and bottled under a crown seal (2019 photo as an example - new label coming soon).
